New End-User Options with AVaaS

AVaaS or audio-visual as a service might be the right path for you and your company. As tech trends constantly change and dictate the way we work, so does our need to purchase office AV equipment. Integrators offering AVaaS have become increasingly popular as end-users seek a different way to buy equipment.

Buying AV equipment for an office, school, or hospital isn’t cheap. For the most part, we’ve previously considered AV equipment as a capital investment. With AVaaS, integrators essentially allow end-users to have their AV equipment on an operating expense, with monthly payment options and an “upgrade” at the end of the agreement. End-users can have three or five year financing options without having to pool all of their cash up-front, and they don't have to miss out on the next generation of AV equipment. Integrators still own the equipment at the end of an agreement and can further offer the option to renew with another set of agreed-to upgrades at the end of this renewed term. Integrators will sometimes offer the end-user ability to buy outright based on the value of the equipment at the end of the term, although this does not generally occur with AVaaS.

As an end-user, take a second to think about how many times you upgrade something you use every day ~ your phone. As innovation changes the way we operate, we’re almost forced to upgrade our phones every few years. The same translates to the AV equipment you use every day. For instance, as video cameras and displays become smarter, such as their ability to recognize faces and pinpoint who’s speaking at any given moment, so does the meeting experience. Many choose to buy up-front and rely on software updates and systems checks, but after some time, even these methods will be out of date and you’ll feel left behind. Not to mention, having outdated equipment mixed with the latest can cause a lot of communication issues and unwanted headaches.

On the AV and IT side, AVaaS allows us integrators and support teams to focus more on our workflow and less on what to do next with aging equipment among our customers. No one likes putting bandaids on tech that would be better suited having an upgrade, but sometimes the capital cost of buying is too much for end-users. Knowing that at the end of any given AVaaS lease those end-users will automatically receive all new and updated equipment, it can make the whole experience easier for both integrators and end-users. Our customers know that they won’t feel the burden of upgrading costs and won't feel technologically behind, while we integrators won’t feel the need to worry about failing, faulty, and outdated equipment and systems.

If you manage millennials or are one yourself, you know that team orientation is crucial. It's no secret that the continual release of new technologies allow a more productive, interactive, and collaborative workflow. Millennials seek to balance work and life; when you have systems and tech to allow the current workforce to better balance, then all is well. If not, frustration insues. Of course, based on your work environment, customization is key. Interactive Solutions, Inc. is here to walk you through every step based on how your employees are currently operating and how they’d like to improve their flow. So here’s the big question: Buy equipment to own up-front, or contract a lease knowing you’ll be updated to the latest in a few years?
